Overview

MC509-N1 is an engineered, multi-armed oncolytic myxoma virus (a type of poxvirus) developed by ViroCure. It is based on a naturally occurring rabbit-specific poxvirus that is non-pathogenic to humans but possesses inherent tumor-selective properties. MC509-N1 serves as a backbone platform for next-generation oncolytic virus development, featuring the insertion of multiple anticancer genes using gene recombination technology to express immune regulators and boosters. It is specifically designed to target and treat tumors with low PD-L1 expression, aiming to induce direct oncolysis and stimulate a systemic anti-tumor immune response. The candidate is being developed for the treatment of colorectal cancer and lung cancer, with the capability for both intratumoral and intravenous administration.
