Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MCX101 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by mCureX Therapeutics, a subsidiary of OliX Pharmaceuticals, in collaboration with Samyang Holdings. It is designed to prevent COVID-19 by encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein. Upon administration, the mRNA instructs host cells to produce the spike protein, which subsequently elicits a protective immune response. The vaccine utilizes a drug delivery system provided by Samyang Holdings to protect the mRNA and facilitate its entry into cells. As of the latest reports, MCX101 is in the preclinical development stage, with animal immunogenicity studies underway.
