Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MD 990 is a preclinical drug candidate developed by AusBio, in partnership with AusVir Therapeutics and Morningside Ventures, for the treatment of respiratory conditions including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), respiratory tract infections, and post-infectious cough syndrome. The therapeutic consists of glycoprotein compounds that function by restoring sialyl-glycoconjugates on the surface of respiratory cells. This restoration is intended to repair the protective glycan layer of the respiratory epithelium, which is often degraded during infection or chronic inflammation, thereby improving lung function and reducing symptoms like persistent cough.
