Overview

MD20 is a newly synthesized 1,4-Dihydropyridine (DHP) derivative. It functions as a novel calcium channel blocker, selectively targeting the T-type calcium channel (Cav3.2) over the L-type calcium channel (Cav1.2). It is being investigated for potential topical use in the treatment of neuropathic pain. Studies have also focused on its amorphous form, thermal properties, molecular dynamics, and physical stability, showing increased stability when formulated with Pluronic surfactants and α-tocopherol.
