MD920

MD920 is a topical small molecule investigational drug developed by Aus Bio for the treatment of chronic wounds, specifically hard-to-heal chronic venous leg ulcers. The active ingredient of MD920 is a 1:1 ratio of gibberellic acid and its salt (gibberellic acid and salt 1:1). Gibberellic acid is a naturally occurring plant growth regulator (phytohormone) that has been shown to stimulate cell migration, particularly of fibroblasts, and exhibit anti-inflammatory properties. MD920 was formulated as a topical agent applied to a non-adhesive wound dressing and evaluated in a Phase 2/3 clinical trial in Australia in combination with standard multilayer compression bandaging. However, the trial was stopped early, and the clinical development of MD920 has been discontinued.
