Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MDC002 is a preclinical small molecule therapeutic being developed by Mitodicure. It is designed to target both the Na+/K+-ATPase and the mitochondrial sodium-calcium exchanger (NCLX), aiming to restore cellular and mitochondrial ion balance. The drug is currently being investigated for a broad range of conditions characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction and fatigue, including Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Fibromyalgia, Gulf War syndrome, and chronic Lyme disease. Mitodicure is also exploring its potential in rare genetic and autoimmune disorders such as Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, and ANCA vasculitis.
