Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mDCt survivin is an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed by Oslo University Hospital. It consists of patient-derived mature dendritic cells (mDCs) transfected via electroporation with in vitro-transcribed (ivt) mRNA encoding survivin (BIRC5), an anti-apoptotic protein highly expressed in glioblastoma and cancer stem cells. Upon administration, these dendritic cells present survivin-derived peptides on their surface to stimulate a robust, antigen-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against survivin-expressing tumor cells. In clinical trials, such as the DEN-STEM trial for newly diagnosed glioblastoma, mDCt survivin is evaluated as part of a trivalent immunotherapy regimen alongside mDCt hTERT and mDCt auto, combined with standard chemoradiotherapy (temozolomide).
