Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MDH-011 is a microbial extracellular vesicle (EV)-based therapeutic under development by MD Healthcare. It is designed as a freeze-dried oral formulation for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), viral pneumonia, and nosocomial pneumonia. MD Healthcare's platform utilizes bacteria-derived extracellular vesicles (also known as outer membrane vesicles or membrane vesicles) to modulate immune and inflammatory pathways, targeting cellular organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum (ER), and peroxisomes to restore homeostasis. MDH-011 has completed preclinical pharmacology and toxicology studies and is in Phase 1 clinical development.
