MDH-114 is a microbial extracellular vesicle (EV) nanotherapeutic developed by MD Healthcare for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The drug is based on a proprietary platform that utilizes the communication axis between the microbiome and the host via extracellular vesicles. These EVs are designed to cross the blood-brain barrier and modulate pathways involved in neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. According to company pipeline data, MDH-114 completed pharmacology studies and progressed through toxicology and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) stages in late 2023, with Phase 1 clinical trials scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.
