Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MDN-001 is a radiopharmaceutical product consisting of Yttrium-90 (Y-90) microspheres, developed by Suzhou Mednovo Yi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. It is designed for the treatment of patients with unresectable primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT). The microspheres are administered via the hepatic artery, where they lodge in the microvasculature of the tumor. Once embedded, the Yttrium-90 isotope emits high-energy beta radiation over a short range, delivering a concentrated dose of ionizing radiation directly to the malignant cells to induce DNA damage and tumor necrosis while sparing the surrounding healthy liver parenchyma.
