Overview

MDR-102 is a donor-derived cellular immunotherapy being developed by Medeor Therapeutics to induce immune tolerance in recipients of HLA-mismatched living donor kidney transplants. The therapy is designed to establish persistent mixed chimerism—a state where donor and recipient immune cells coexist—thereby allowing for the tapering and eventual withdrawal of chronic immunosuppressive medications such as tacrolimus or cyclosporine. By achieving a state of "immune quiescence," MDR-102 aims to protect the transplanted organ from rejection while sparing the patient from the long-term side effects and toxicities associated with systemic immunosuppression. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2/3 clinical trials.
