Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MDX-012** is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-8 (IL-8), a key chemokine that promotes inflammation by attracting neutrophils and other immune cells. Developed by Medarex (now part of Bristol Myers Squibb), it inhibits IL-8-mediated signaling to reduce tumor growth and inflammatory responses. It has been investigated primarily for oncology applications, including glioblastoma, and inflammatory conditions such as palmoplantar pustulosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with potential extension to autoimmune diseases.
