MDX-1100 + methotrexate

**MDX-1100 + methotrexate** is a combination of a fully human monoclonal antibody, MDX-1100 (also known as anti-CXCL10 or anti-IP-10), and the small molecule antirheumatic agent, methotrexate. MDX-1100 targets the chemokine CXCL10 (also known as IP-10), which is implicated in inflammatory processes seen in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The combination has been studied in phase 2 clinical trials for patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who responded inadequately to methotrexate monotherapy. In these randomized, double-blind trials, the combination demonstrated statistically significant improvements in disease activity compared to placebo plus methotrexate and was generally well tolerated. MDX-1100 was developed by Medarex as a novel immunotherapy, and has also been investigated in ulcerative colitis[1][2][3][5][6][7][8].
