Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MDX-1411 is a fully human, glycoengineered IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets the extracellular domain of the human CD70 molecule, a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family. It was developed for its potential antineoplastic activity by binding to CD70-expressing cells and inducing antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), leading to immune-mediated destruction of targeted cancer cells. Preclinical studies demonstrated anti-tumor activity in models of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). MDX-1411 was initially developed by Medarex and later acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb. Its primary indications included renal cell carcinoma, mantle-cell lymphoma, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia; however, clinical development has been discontinued[1][2][3][4][5].
