Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ME-PR is a fixed-dose combination capsule containing pregabalin (75 mg) and methylcobalamin (750 mcg), developed and marketed by Systopic Laboratories. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of neuropathic pain, including diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy. Pregabalin acts as an alpha-2-delta ligand that binds to voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and alleviating pain. Methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12, serves as a cofactor for methionine synthase, promoting myelin sheath synthesis, axonal regeneration, and the rejuvenation of damaged nerve cells. Together, the two components provide synergistic relief from nerve pain and support nerve repair.
