Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ME003 is a peptide-based agonist of the fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) pathway, currently under development by Letolab for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). FGF21 is a metabolic hormone that plays a critical role in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism; its activation is associated with reduced hepatic fat accumulation (steatosis), improved insulin sensitivity, and decreased liver inflammation and fibrosis. ME003 is designed as a therapeutic peptide to mimic or enhance FGF21 signaling to address the underlying metabolic dysregulation in NASH. The program is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
