Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine produced by Sanofi Pasteur (often branded as Trimovax) is a live-attenuated viral vaccine indicated for the active immunization of children and adults against measles, mumps, and rubella. It typically contains the Schwarz strain of the measles virus, the Urabe AM9 or Jeryl Lynn strain of the mumps virus, and the Wistar RA 27/3 strain of the rubella virus. In clinical development programs, Sanofi Pasteur has evaluated this vaccine's safety and immunogenicity when administered concomitantly with other pediatric vaccines, such as the tetravalent dengue vaccine (CYD-TDV, Dengvaxia) and the yellow fever vaccine (Stamaril). These studies aim to confirm that the co-administration of MMR does not negatively impact the seroconversion rates or safety profile of the dengue vaccine or other routine immunizations.
