Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zydus Lifesciences is developing a live attenuated combination vaccine (MMRV) for the prevention of measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox). This freeze-dried formulation is designed to provide immunity against all four viral pathogens in a single injection. The vaccine works by introducing attenuated strains of the Measles morbillivirus, Mumps orthorubulavirus, Rubella virus, and Varicella-zoster virus, which stimulate the immune system to produce protective antibodies. As of 2025, the development was in Phase I following regulatory guidance from the CDSCO to establish safety in healthy adults before proceeding to pediatric trials.
