measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (live)

Priorix is a live attenuated trivalent vaccine developed by GSK for active immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella. It contains the Schwarz measles strain, the RIT 4385 mumps strain (derived from the Jeryl Lynn strain), and the Wistar RA 27/3 rubella strain. The vaccine is indicated for children 12 months of age and older, and in some regions, for adults. It is administered either subcutaneously or intramuscularly and works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies and cellular responses against the three viruses. Priorix has been used extensively outside the United States for decades and received FDA approval in 2022 as an alternative to the long-standing M-M-R II vaccine.
