Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MEBO (Moist Exposed Burn Ointment) is a topical botanical ointment developed by Shantou MEBO based on the principles of Moist Exposed Burn Therapy (MEBT) and Human Body Regeneration Restoration Science (HBRRS). [7] The ointment is primarily used for the treatment of burns, wounds, and various types of ulcers. [2, 7] Its main active components include beta-sitosterol, baicalin, and berberine in a sesame oil and beeswax base. [2, 3] MEBO is designed to create a moist physiological environment conducive to natural tissue regeneration, while also providing anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and analgesic effects. [3, 7, 10] It is approved for use in many countries and has been studied in clinical trials in the USA by Skingenix for indications such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. [17, 18]
