Overview
Mecapegfilgrastim is a long‐acting, pegylated recombinant analog of the endogenous human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It is designed to stimulate the production of neutrophils and reduce the risk of infection in patients undergoing chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy by preventing or treating neutropenia. The drug achieves prolonged activity through PEGylation, allowing for once-per-cycle dosing and improved patient compliance compared to short‐acting G-CSFs. Mecapegfilgrastim is primarily developed for use in oncology settings to mitigate chemotherapy-induced neutropenia[2][5][7][9].
