MeCOSar-trastuzumab (also known as SAR-trastuzumab) is a targeted copper theranostic (TCT) radiopharmaceutical being developed by Clarity Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the University of Melbourne. It consists of the HER2-targeting monoclonal antibody trastuzumab conjugated to Clarity's proprietary sarcophagine-based bifunctional chelator, MeCOSar. MeCOSar-trastuzumab can be radiolabeled with copper-64 ([64Cu]Cu-MeCOSar-trastuzumab) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, or with copper-67 ([67Cu]Cu-MeCOSar-trastuzumab) for targeted beta-emitting radioimmunotherapy (RIT). The asset is being developed for the diagnosis and treatment of HER2-positive cancers, primarily breast cancer.
