Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mecxin is a brand of pharmaceutical products developed by Stevia Pharmaceuticals, primarily containing mecobalamin (methylcobalamin) and used for the management of various neuropathic conditions and Vitamin B12 deficiency. The product line includes several specialized formulations: Mecxin-OD, which provides a high dose of mecobalamin for nerve regeneration; Mecxin-G, which combines mecobalamin with gabapentin to treat neuropathic pain by modulating calcium channels; and Mecxin-BT, a multi-ingredient formulation containing benfotiamine, alpha-lipoic acid, and B-vitamins to address diabetic and peripheral neuropathy. Mecobalamin, the core component, serves as a cofactor for methionine synthase, playing a critical role in homocysteine metabolism and the maintenance of the myelin sheath.
