Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MEDI8852 + oseltamivir** is a combination therapy evaluated for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated influenza A infection in adults. MEDI8852 is a human IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody that broadly targets the hemagglutinin (HA) stem region of influenza A viruses, inhibiting viral entry and fusion. Oseltamivir is a small-molecule neuraminidase inhibitor that prevents the release of new virions from infected cells. This combination is investigated to determine whether joint administration provides improved safety or efficacy compared to either agent alone. Clinical studies have shown the combination to be generally well tolerated, but with no significant additional clinical benefit over monotherapy in uncomplicated influenza A infection[1][4].
