Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Medical cannabis oil (specifically MediCane's balanced T3:C3 oil) is an oral, sublingually administered botanical extract formulated in GMP-grade olive oil. It contains a balanced 1:1 ratio of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) derived from a proprietary cannabis strain. Developed by M.H MediCane in collaboration with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, the formulation was investigated as an add-on therapy to standard of care for the treatment of agitation and behavioral disturbances (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia, or BPSD) in adults with major neurocognitive disorder (dementia), including probable Alzheimer's disease. The clinical development for this indication was evaluated in a Phase II trial in Israel (NCT06217146), which was subsequently terminated.
