Overview
Medicinal cannabinoid oil is a full-spectrum, plant-derived cannabis oil formulation developed by **Zelira Therapeutics** (formerly Zelda Therapeutics). This botanical extract contains a standardized ratio of **delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)** and **cannabidiol (CBD)**, along with other minor cannabinoids and terpenes found in the whole cannabis plant. The formulation targets the **endocannabinoid system**, specifically acting as an agonist at **CB1 and CB2 receptors** to modulate pain perception, reduce inflammation, and improve sleep and mood. It was primarily evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial in Australia (ACTRN12617001195303) for patients with chronic non-cancer pain to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and potential to reduce opioid dependence. The product is manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and is compliant with Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations.
