Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Medium-chain triglycerides + amino acids + glucose + electrolytes is a ready-to-use triple-chamber parenteral nutrition (PN) injection developed by Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical. This combination product is designed to provide comprehensive macronutrient and electrolyte support for patients who are unable to receive adequate oral or enteral nutrition, such as those undergoing major abdominal surgery. The formulation contains a mixture of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and long-chain triglycerides (LCT) to provide energy and essential fatty acids, 16 amino acids for protein synthesis, glucose as a primary carbohydrate energy source, and essential electrolytes to maintain fluid and mineral balance. The triple-chamber bag technology keeps the lipid emulsion, amino acids, and glucose solutions separate until administration, which enhances stability and reduces the risk of contamination compared to hospital-compounded all-in-one mixtures. Its primary therapeutic goal is systemic nutritional repletion by delivering energy substrates and nitrogen directly into the bloodstream.
