Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Medolysin is a ready-to-use, sequential wound spray developed by Lohmann & Rauscher for the management of chronic wounds, including leg ulcers and decubitus ulcers. Classified as a medical device rather than a conventional pharmaceutical, it works by maintaining a moist wound environment and forming a protective film over the wound surface. This barrier helps reduce the bacterial load while simultaneously protecting beneficial skin flora, thereby promoting the natural healing process. Its clinical performance and safety have been investigated in prospective multicenter cohort studies in Germany.
