Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dolomec MF is a combination analgesic and antipyretic medication containing mefenamic acid and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Developed by McW Healthcare, it is primarily used to alleviate mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever, particularly in pediatric patients. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol acts primarily on the central nervous system to elevate the pain threshold and regulate body temperature via the hypothalamus. Together, these two active ingredients provide synergistic relief from pain and fever.
