Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MEGACD40L is a recombinant CD40 ligand agonist protein developed by Multimeric Biotherapeutics as an immunostimulatory biologic for immune activation and potential cancer immunotherapy. The active construct comprises two trimeric CD40 ligand molecules linked through the collagen domain of adiponectin, a design intended to mimic higher-order membrane-associated CD40L clustering and thereby activate the CD40 receptor more effectively than simple soluble ligand formats. Pharmacologically, it is designed to provide co-stimulatory signaling to antigen-presenting cells and B lymphocytes through CD40 agonism, promoting immune activation. Available information indicates preclinical and research-use positioning rather than approved therapeutic use.
