Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MegaRed is a brand of over-the-counter dietary supplements primarily composed of omega-3 fatty acids derived from krill oil and fish oil. Marketed by Schiff (a subsidiary of Reckitt Benckiser), the product line includes various formulations such as MegaRed Omega-3 Krill Oil and MegaRed Advanced 4-in-1. The active ingredients, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are often delivered in phospholipid form when sourced from krill, which is marketed as providing superior absorption compared to traditional fish oil. MegaRed is used to support cardiovascular health by helping to maintain healthy triglyceride levels and is also promoted for joint, brain, and eye health. As a dietary supplement, it is not regulated as a pharmaceutical drug and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
