Overview
Megavac-7 is a polyvalent (7-in-1) canine vaccine developed by Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL). It is designed to provide comprehensive protection against seven major infectious diseases in dogs: canine distemper, canine parvovirus, canine infectious hepatitis (adenovirus type 1), canine adenovirus type 2 (respiratory disease), canine parainfluenza, and leptospirosis (caused by *Leptospira canicola* and *Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae*). The vaccine formulation typically combines live-attenuated viral antigens with inactivated bacterial antigens (bacterins). It is administered via injection to puppies starting at 6-8 weeks of age, followed by booster doses to establish and maintain active immunity. As a flagship product of IIL, it is widely used in veterinary practice for routine immunization.
