Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Meizitanc is a product marketed as a weight loss dietary supplement. It is often sold under names such as "Meizitang Botanical Slimming Soft Gel" and "Meizitang Citrus." Despite being promoted as an all-natural herbal supplement for slimming and weight loss, laboratory analyses by regulatory agencies have repeatedly found that various versions of this product contain undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients. These include sibutramine (an appetite suppressant withdrawn from many markets due to cardiovascular risks), diclofenac (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), dipyrone (an analgesic banned in several countries due to risk of agranulocytosis), and sildenafil or its metabolites (a prescription-only medication for erectile dysfunction)[1][2][3][5]. The presence of these hidden drugs poses significant health risks including increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, nervousness, headache, tremor, and potentially life-threatening interactions with other medications[1][2][3][5]. The product has not been approved by major regulatory authorities for safety or efficacy.
