Overview

Melanoderm is a topical depigmenting cream containing 4% hydroquinone, developed by Mesoestetic Pharma Group for the treatment of facial melasma. Hydroquinone, the active ingredient, works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which is essential for the synthesis of melanin in melanocytes. By reducing melanin production, it helps lighten hyperpigmented areas of the skin. The efficacy and safety of Melanoderm 4% have been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials (e.g., NCT02095990) using the Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) score to assess changes in pigmentation and patient satisfaction.
