Overview
Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of the peptide hormone α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It stimulates melanogenesis to facilitate tanning and may increase sexual arousal. It is used for sunless tanning, appetite suppression, and inducing sexual desire and penile erection. However, it is not approved for any medical conditions and has serious safety concerns, including potential links to melanoma and other side effects like nausea and facial flushing.
