melatonin (Alturix)

Ceyesto is a brand of melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone produced by the pineal gland that regulates the sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm). Developed by ALTURiX, Ceyesto is available as an immediate-release 3 mg tablet and a 1 mg/ml oral solution. It is indicated for the short-term treatment of jet lag in adults, and for the treatment of insomnia in children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) where sleep hygiene measures have been insufficient. The oral solution is also indicated for delayed sleep-wake phase disorder (DSWPD) in individuals aged 6 to 25 years, and for short-term sedation to facilitate electroencephalograms (EEGs) in children and adolescents aged 1 to 18 years. Melatonin acts as an agonist at melatonin receptors MT1 and MT2 in the brain to promote sleep.
