Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Melaxamine is an oral dietary supplement developed by Grand Medical Group, formulated as a combination of melatonin (3 mg) and L-glycine (400 mg). It is designed to support healthy sleep and nervous system function, particularly in individuals experiencing difficulty falling asleep, frequent night awakenings, circadian rhythm disruptions, jet lag, stress, and vegetative-vascular disorders (such as those associated with menopause). Melatonin acts as an agonist at melatonin receptors MT1 and MT2 to regulate the sleep-wake cycle and circadian rhythms. L-glycine serves as an inhibitory neurotransmitter that binds to glycine receptors and acts as a co-agonist at NMDA receptors, promoting emotional balance, reducing anxiety, and facilitating relaxation. Melaxamine is marketed in capsule form and is approved as a health supplement in several European and Eurasian countries.
