**MELITAC 12.1 peptide vaccine** is an investigational therapeutic multipeptide melanoma vaccine developed at the University of Virginia. It contains 12 class I MHC-restricted melanoma-associated peptide epitopes derived from melanocytic differentiation antigens and cancer-testis antigens, plus a class II MHC-restricted tetanus toxoid helper peptide. The vaccine is intended to prime and expand tumor-antigen-specific cytotoxic T-cell responses against melanoma cells presenting these antigens. It was studied with immune adjuvants including lipopolysaccharide, poly-ICLC, and incomplete Freund's adjuvant in melanoma trials.
