Membrex is a personalized autologous cancer immunotherapy platform developed by Metaclipse Therapeutics. It utilizes membrane vesicles derived from a patient’s own tumor tissue that are modified with proprietary immunostimulatory proteins and adjuvants. These vesicles contain both neoantigens and tumor-associated antigens unique to the individual’s cancer. Upon intradermal injection, the therapy delivers these antigens along with immune-stimulating proteins to activate the patient’s immune system—particularly CD8 positive T lymphocyte—against their specific tumor cells. The approach aims to address tumor heterogeneity and immune escape by presenting a broad array of patient-specific antigens without requiring cell line establishment or viral vectors. Membrex is being investigated as monotherapy and in combination with approved immune checkpoint inhibitors for advanced cancers such as triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and HER2-positive breast cancer[1][3][5][7].
