Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Men-B-Bio is an investigational meningococcal serogroup B vaccine developed by Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz in collaboration with Instituto Butantan and the Adolfo Lutz Institute in Brazil. The vaccine is composed of detergent-treated outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) and detoxified lipooligosaccharide (dLOS) derived from prevalent Brazilian strains of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. It is designed to elicit a protective antibody response against serogroup B surface antigens. Clinical evaluation has included a randomized Phase II/III trial in children aged 4–11 years to assess immunogenicity and safety compared to the Cuban vaccine VAMENGOC-BC.
