Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MENASCORP Plus is a polyvalent anti-scorpion venom serum developed and manufactured by VinsBioproducts. It is an equine-derived biologic composed of polyclonal antibodies (immunoglobulins) purified from the plasma of healthy horses hyperimmunized against the venoms of three medically significant scorpion species: *Leiurus quinquestriatus*, *Androctonus amoreuxi*, and *Androctonus australis hector*. The manufacturing process involves pepsin digestion, which typically yields F(ab')2 antibody fragments, followed by controlled heating and caprylic acid precipitation to ensure purity and safety. MENASCORP Plus is indicated for the treatment of scorpion envenomation, where the antibodies bind to and neutralize circulating toxins, preventing their interaction with physiological targets and mitigating the clinical effects of the sting.
