Mencevax ACW is a polysaccharide meningococcal vaccine indicated for active immunization against meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, and W135. It works by stimulating the body's immune system to produce protective antibodies against the specific polysaccharide antigens of these bacterial serogroups. Originally developed by GlaxoSmithKline, the vaccine was acquired by Pfizer in 2015.
