Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Menactra + Daptacel refers to the concomitant administration of two distinct vaccines developed by Sanofi Pasteur: Menactra, a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine, and Daptacel, a diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccine. Menactra is indicated for active immunization to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135 in individuals aged 9 months through 55 years. Daptacel is indicated for active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis as a five-dose series in children 6 weeks through 6 years of age. Clinical studies have evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of administering these two vaccines at the same visit but at different injection sites, confirming that the immune response to each vaccine is maintained without significant interference. This combination is commonly used in pediatric and adolescent immunization schedules to reduce the number of healthcare visits.
