This combination refers to the co-administration of the quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY-TT) and the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13). MenACWY-TT, marketed as MenQuadfi by Sanofi or Nimenrix by Pfizer, is a conjugate vaccine where capsular polysaccharides from Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W, and Y are covalently linked to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. PCV13, marketed as Prevnar 13 by Pfizer, contains capsular polysaccharides from 13 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae (1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F) conjugated to a non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin (CRM197). The co-administration of these vaccines is common in pediatric and geriatric immunization schedules. Clinical trials have demonstrated that simultaneous administration at separate injection sites maintains the immunogenicity and safety profile of each individual vaccine, providing broad protection against invasive meningococcal and pneumococcal diseases.
