meningococcal ABCYW vaccine (Sanofi)

The meningococcal ABCYW vaccine (specifically Sanofi's SP0230) is a pentavalent vaccine candidate designed to provide broad protection against invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y. Developed by Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccine combines the capsular polysaccharide conjugates from a quadrivalent MenACWY vaccine (such as MenQuadfi) with recombinant protein antigens targeting serogroup B (such as factor H binding protein). By covering all five major pathogenic serogroups in a single immunization series, it aims to simplify vaccination schedules and increase coverage against MenB, which is often administered separately from the quadrivalent conjugate vaccines. The vaccine is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for use in infants, toddlers, and children.
