Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Meningococcal C-CRM conjugate vaccine is a monovalent, protein-conjugated polysaccharide vaccine designed to protect against invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup C. The active component is the capsular polysaccharide of serogroup C, which is chemically linked (conjugated) to the non-toxic mutant diphtheria toxin protein CRM197. This conjugation enhances immunogenicity, especially in infants and young children, by inducing a T-cell dependent immune response. The primary indication for this vaccine is the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease due to serogroup C. It is administered intramuscularly and forms part of routine immunization schedules in many countries[5][1].
