Meningococcal conjugate vaccine quadrivalent

Meningococcal conjugate vaccine quadrivalent (MCV4) is a vaccine used for active immunization to prevent invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, W, and Y. It is a conjugate vaccine in which polysaccharides from the bacterial capsule are linked to a carrier protein (such as diphtheria CRM197), enhancing immune response especially in young children. MCV4 does not protect against serogroup B infections. The primary indication is prevention of invasive meningococcal disease in children, adolescents, and adults up to 55 years old. Major brands include Menveo (approved for ages 2 months through 55 years), Menactra (approved for ages 9 months through 55 years), and Menhycia (approved in China).
