Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MenABCWY (GSK3536852A) is an investigational pentavalent meningococcal vaccine developed by GSK (originally by Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics) to prevent invasive meningococcal disease (IMD). The vaccine is a combination of the antigenic components of two established vaccines: Bexsero (Meningococcal Group B Vaccine) and Menveo (Meningococcal Groups A, C, Y, and W-135 Oligosaccharide Conjugate Vaccine). It contains four components targeting serogroup B (recombinant proteins fHbp, NadA, and NHBA, plus outer membrane vesicles) and four conjugate components targeting serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y (capsular polysaccharides conjugated to the CRM197 carrier protein). By providing coverage against the five most common serogroups in a single product, the vaccine aims to simplify immunization schedules and improve compliance among adolescents and young adults, who are at higher risk for meningococcal disease.
