Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A recombinant protein vaccine developed for the prevention of invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B. It contains two recombinant lipidated factor H binding proteins (fHBP) from divergent serogroup B strains. Its mechanism relies on eliciting immune responses that generate bactericidal antibodies against meningococcal serogroup B, preventing severe conditions like meningitis and sepsis. The vaccine is indicated primarily for adolescents and young adults at high risk of exposure or during outbreaks. It is not expected to protect against serogroups other than B.
