Meningococcal group Y oligosaccharide conjugated to corynebacterium diphtheriae CRM197 protein is a specific glycoconjugate vaccine antigen designed to provide active immunity against *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup Y. Developed by GSK (following its acquisition of Novartis' vaccines business), this entity consists of purified capsular oligosaccharides from serogroup Y bacteria that are covalently linked to the CRM197 carrier protein, a non-toxic recombinant variant of the diphtheria toxin. This conjugation process is essential for converting the polysaccharide from a T-cell independent antigen into a T-cell dependent one, which enables a robust immune response in infants and young children and induces long-term immunological memory. While not marketed as a standalone monovalent product, it is a primary active constituent of the quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine, Menveo, which is indicated for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y.
